Detection Technology Plc has introduced a new line of TFT (thin-film transistor) flat panel detectors, which leverage advanced IGZO (indium gallium zinc oxide) technologies, catering to both medical and industrial needs.

The portfolio features two detectors that are specifically geared toward imaging applications:

  • X-Panel 2323z FDM, a dynamic IGZO X-ray flat panel detector, optimized for mobile C-arms, image intensifier (II) replacement, and cone beam computed tomography (CBCT)

  • X-Panel 3030z FDM, a dynamic IGZO X-ray flat panel detector, optimized for mobile C-arms, medical CBCT and digital subtraction angiography (DSA)

“IGZO is replacing CMOS and a-Si technologies in dental CBCT applications for large fields of view, fast frame rates, and excellent low-dose performance. In turn, in surgical applications, IGZO will replace image intensifiers and offer improved low-dose performance compared to a-Si,” said Tuomas Holma, director of product management of the Medical Business Unit at Detection Technology, in a statement.

Detection Technology, which is based in Finland with additional facilities in China, France, and the U.S., plans to unveil these and other upcoming products at two exhibitions: the CMEF show in Shanghai and the WCNDT show in Incheon, Korea.
