Somerset, UK, Nov 4, 2022. Predictive Health Intelligence, a medical technology company, today announced they will be presenting new data at The Liver Meeting AASLD in Washington DC showcasing the potential of longitudinal analysis for identifying patients at risk of liver disease.

Predictive Health Intelligence have developed a case-finding tool to identify hidden cases of liver disease, often before symptoms have developed. This tool, known as hepatoSIGHT, looks at existing data from historic blood tests in a new and innovative way. The results, due to be presented next month in Washington DC, demonstrate the utility of this new way of thinking about liver disease diagnostics.

Liver disease, a leading cause of death in the working age population, is often diagnosed too late, where treatments are not effective. Current risk scores do a good job of assessing where a person's liver health stands today, without adequately taking into account what the story may have been over the past 5 years. Now, thanks to the power of hepatoSIGHT, a new method is being presented that allows doctors to do exactly that. This method known as the Cumulative Liver Damage Index, or CLDI, was shown to be a strong predictor of F4 liver disease, the most advanced stage of scarring, with a 95% confidence interval (CI).

Dr Tim Jobson, MD PhD, commented "It's fantastic to have our first abstract demonstrating the potential utility of a longitudinal case finding approach to improve the population health approach to liver disease."
