Nelson Mendes, CEO of Ziehm Imaging, appointed Medical Imaging & Technology Alliance (MITA) chairman of the board

Orlando, Fla. (September 9, 2015) – Nelson Mendes, the President and CEO of Ziehm Imaging Inc., was recently elected to serve as the Chairman of the Board for the Medical Imaging & Technology Alliance (MITA), which is a branch of the North America Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA).
MITA is the leading organization and collective voice of medical imaging equipment, radiation therapy and radiopharmaceutical manufacturers, innovators and product developers. The alliance represents companies whose sales comprise more than 90 percent of the global market for medical imaging technology.
“We are delighted that Nelson has agreed to serve as Chairman of the Board for our alliance,” said Patrick Hope, Executive Director of MITA. “His extensive industry experience and knowledge of innovation and product development within the imaging space are second-to-none, and will be invaluable during his tenure.”
Ziehm Imaging is the innovation leader in the mobile c-arm industry. Mendes has served as the leader of Ziehm Imaging Inc. in the Americas since 2008. The company serves the Americas operation, which includes the United States, Canada, Central and South Americas and the Caribbean, from its headquarters in Orlando, Fla.
“I am humbled and honored with the appointment which I have accepted and which represents the highest position in our industry’s national association, respected by regulators, legislators, major hospitals and medical associations such as RSNA, AAOS, among others,” Mendes stated.
During his term – which encompasses the remainder of 2015 and all of 2016 – Mendes has set forth four strategic objectives, including:
