The system is intended for use in minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery of the knee, shoulder, ankle, elbow, and wrist. The VAPR 3 System is the first arthroscopic soft-tissue excision system to combine the power and speed of high-frequency bipolar radiofrequency energy with the precision, safety, and flexibility of micro-processor controlled technology. The latest generation in the VAPR family of generators introduces the “Seamless Fault Safety Feature”, which cuts the power to the electrode as it approaches metal and automatically reactivates it when moved away. The “Seamless Fault Safety Feature” offers added protection for patients, staff and operating room equipment. The VAPR is designed for a range of arthroscopic procedures including subacromial decompression, chrondoplasty, synovectomy, lateral release of the knee, anterior cruciate ligament debridement, menisectomy, and thermal modification.
